Love is in the Air

Valentine’s day is right around the corner so the timing of Aveda’s newest product launch couldn’t have been more perfect! Introducing... Aveda Love Composition Oil!

Aveda Love Composition

Some of you may remember the original Love Aroma that was discontinued years ago, well Aveda has brought it back in remembrance of founder Horst Rechelbacher, who passed 2 years ago.

Infused with Australian Sandalwood, vetiver, frankincense and jasmine this sensual oil is perfect for massage, scalp treatment, and all over body moisturizer that leaves skin feeling soft and supple.

And bonus! Aveda donates $4 from every bottle sold to the National Audubon Society!

Experience it for yourself next time your in the salon and take home a bottle for yourself for only $30!

Valentine’s Day and the new Love Oil have us thinking about...LOVE! Recently several of us girls have been passing around Dr Gary Chapman’s book “The 5 Love Languages”. Some of you may have heard of it before, but for those who haven’t it’s about how each of us gives and receive’s love.

The 5 Love Languages are:

Words of Affirmation
Someone lifts you up with kind words or praises something you’ve done.
Acts of Service
Someone takes out the trash, does the dishes, or some other kind act just because.
Affection
    Hugs, kisses, holding your hand
Quality Time
Put the phone away and just be with your loved one! Intentional time together.
Gifts
Flowers, jewelry, your favorite Aveda shampoo ;)

Your primary love language is determined by a few things:

Your upbringing. How did your parents show love to one another and to you?

When you want to show love to another person how do you? Basic instincts can show your primary love language.

Painful relational experiences can also show your primary love language. I.E. someone who has hurt you in the past may not have been speaking your love language and it caused you to feel neglected.

Think about what makes you happy. Is it:
~Seeing that your significant other took the trash out (Acts of Service)
~Or he bought you that purse you’ve been eyeing the last 2 months (Gifts)

Think about what makes your loved one happy:
~Being pulled in tight with a passionate kiss (Affection)
~Or telling him/her you’re proud of them for how hard they work to support your family (Words of Affirmation)

Still not sure what you and/or your loved one’s primary language is? You can take the quiz here! Love Language Quiz

As several of us girls here at the Hive have discovered, knowing your loved one’s love language (and your own) can improve communication and help you connect deeper. And just give and feel more love!

We hope this Valentine’s Day surrounds you with lots of LOVE!
